As most of our customers know, Smart Products USA, Inc. has finished constructing a 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Mills River, Henderson County, N.C. In addition to job creation, the company has invested $3.2 million in the community, $1.5 million in construction, and $1.7 million in machinery and equipment.
The company uses injection molding technology and the highest quality assembly processes to produce check valves and pumps that are used in a variety of industry sectors including automotive, food and beverage, and medical.

During that same timeframe, companies such as Empire Distributors, Legacy Paddlesports, Raumedic AG, Country Malt Group, GF Linamar LLC, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Demmel AG, Smart Products, Bold Rock Hard Cider and Norafin AG have announced location plans, in addition to existing industry expansion and consolidation growth by companies such as Elkamet, Blue Ridge Metals Corp, Cane Creek Cycling Components, Earthfare, American Quality Foods, City Bakery, Barry Callebaut, Gaia Herbs, Microtech Knives and The Warm Company.
Henderson County’s thriving manufacturing base is supported by The Made in Henderson County initiative, a coordinated effort established to enhance the connection between manufacturing businesses and the Henderson County Public School System, while telling the story of manufacturing, the products that are made here and the people who make them. The effort to enhance connectivity between manufacturing businesses and the school system is focused on raising the visibility of manufacturing as a viable career path to ensure that Henderson County students have diverse employment opportunities in the community, and manufacturing businesses have access to skilled, local talent.
