The New PR Poppet from Smart Products
We've made a good poppet even better! The new PR poppet design from Smart Products incorporates all of the features our customers expect in a more precise performance envelope. As you can see from the picture, the PR poppet’s new look comes from a redesigned head that helps the valve produce a more aggressive opening curve and a more decisive close. This enhancement shortens the open to close time and helps to  maintain a rapid rate of increase in flow.
Advantages
- Translates spring forces to pressure with accuracy
- Allows for more flow
- Provides more of an on/off opening characteristic
- Has a more consistent opening value
- Produces lower noise (frequency is lower)
- Retains o-ring to a slightly higher pressures in the flow directions
The new PR poppet provides a more rapid opening event compared to the PS (standard poppet), which is especially true for higher opening pressures as shown in the bottom graph.
For customers who need Gamma Sterilization, ETO Sterilization, and Autoclaving:
 Gamma Radiation is the most rapid sterilization method and has well established processes for sterilizing polymer-based devices. Smart Products has tested our plastic materials and o-rings to 39.9 kGy.
The results for the plastic materials we offer show the following passed visual and functional testing:
- Polypropylene
- Nylon Black
- Acrylic
- Acetal (Delrin)
- Ultem
- ABS
The following o-rings passed visual and functional testing:
- FolloBuna-N
- Silicone
- Flourosilicone

Introducing the New 152 Side Seal Cartridge Valve
Superior Performance in a
Better Mounting Option
As with many of our most popular products, the new 152 Side Seal Valve started with requests from customers for a shorter valve that mounts in a smaller space than our 120, 130, and 140 series of cartridge check valves.
Although the 152 can be press fit without the O-ring, the function and life span is best with the side seal mount. We always encourage the O-ring as an alternative to press fit. Mount in 5/8” bore molded or machined bore or manifold. The 152 Shares the 150 series line of springs and poppets, as well as o-rings allowing for hundreds of possible combinations of components to suit most applications.
For our customers who require more flow, the 152 will allow five times more flow with air or water than the 132 or 122 side seal valves. This will give more options for customers who need this type of mounting capability.

Anaheim - February 9-11
